Jan's Puppy Head Start is available for dogs who are 16 weeks old to six months old. The two-week program gets your dog off to a good start. The program is open to all large breeds.
Retrievers and spaniels will be encouraged to retrieve on both land and water, and will begin basic obedience commands with a flat collar. They will be introduced to water, birds and a blank gun. Pointing dogs will learn wing-on-a-string, return to the whistle, and will be introduced to the blank gun.
Non-hunting breeds will be socialized in a house environment for good manners and will learn basic obedience commands with a flat collar. House-breaking is not part of the program, but is available for a substantial extra fee.
